A Journey Begins

By November 16, 2008January 10th, 2018Around Here, Random Writing

At the tender age of 8, I got ahold of my very first Polaroid camera. Instant bliss! I’ll never forget my yellowed plastic Polaroid with its rainbow stripe down the center. It was my first taste of what would soon become my passion, and eventually my career.

As sad as it is, this year Polaroid will cease to make its iconic film. Polaroid camera’s with their “instant” review of your photo, were the digital cameras of the day. With the advent of modern digital photography, Polaroid has lost much of its sales base (aside from a few die-hard fans), which has resulted in the end of an era. With the loss of such a great period in photographic history, I’d like to start a new beginning – right here at Making the Moment. Think of it as a salute to all the great things that photography is, was and will be.

And you’re right here, at the center of it all – our very own blog. My hope is that this blog will be a fun access point for anyone interested in artistic photojournalistic wedding photography. Whether you’re a fellow professional, a bride to be, or just someone looking for some inspiration – you’re right at home.

So take some time around here, interact, and dig in. I’ll be blogging about all sorts of tips and tricks, as well as post fun images (and even inspiration) as it comes up. This is an open and honest forum – and I (as well as the rest of Making the Moment) welcome your thoughts and interaction.

For the years of happy blogging and the journey ahead – welcome – and let’s get down to it.

For those interested – here is a shot of my first Polaroid Land camera. Let me know if you had one of these!

My ol' One-Step
