Traveling for Vintage Love

Everything about this perfect day had the feel of a time gone by. Melissa and Brian always wanted to have a special wedding; something that showed that their love for each other is timeless.  So for this life-changing day these two slipped back into the past for a black and white vintage affair that would last a lifetime.

The wedding party was fairly large – 24 all together!  As a wedding photographer, you really have to be a good communicator & good with people to work with a group that large – and did we ever have a blast.  They all got ready at the Shore Line Inn in Muskegon, Michigan.  Melissa’s room had an overlook view of Muskegon, and also provided a small peek of Brian, who was eight floors down.

After everyone was ready we went to several sweet urban wedding photography locations I tracked down, which included some old factories, and a nineteen fifties drive-in for a quick milkshake….well kind of.

Although we typically find ourselves as Cleveland Wedding Photographers, we do handle a good number of travel and destination wedding photography opportunities in a year, and traveling to Muskegon to be a Muskegon wedding photographer for a day was so much fun!

The ceremony was beautiful and a very special moment for everyone.  Melissa and Brian have been together for more than 7 years, and knew this day would come when the time was right.   That being said, Brian was lucky Melissa’s dad even let this wedding happen.  Melissa’s Dad let Brian know…with shotgun in hand… that he better take care of his daughter.

From downtown we hopped aboard this romantic trolley and headed to the beach for a quick view of the sunset.  It all fit together so perfect, and I was honored to be a part of this wedding.

The reception was no different from the rest of the day.  Vintage tabletop decorations with full white feathers, and yes, classic drinks, shaken not stirredThe day would not have been complete without the men retiring for a moment to have brandies and cigars

Really this day sums up what a Making the Moment wedding is all about…. something different.  Couples who really just want to have a lot of fun on their wedding day.  For Melissa and Brian these creative and fun wedding photographs will forever be an awesome way for them to remember this special moment in time.   It was a wonderfully good time being their wedding photographer, and I couldn’t be happier for these two.  Melissa & Brian – congratulations, and I wish you the best for the years to come – enjoy your Creative Wedding Photography!
