By July 1, 2011July 14th, 2011photos, Wedding

Relationships and authenticity are at the heart of our wedding photography around here, and it’s clear that relationships and authenticity are central to the love that Emily & James share. Cleveland Wedding PhotographyBefore I even get started telling the tale of their wedding day – I have to say – the above photos of Emily are two of my very favorites from the entire day. Emily looks STUNNING – her personality just shines in this image! I loved working with her to show off her sweet dress & good looks – so much fun 🙂Cleveland Wedding PhotographyEmily & James had their wedding at Mon Ami Winery in Port Clinton, Ohio. Although most of the wedding couples we work with are in town, Emily & James were planning their wedding from Florida. It can be tricky planning a wedding from out of town, but we’re used to helping couples in this situation, and I had a great time getting to know Emily & James “digitally” until I met them on their wedding day.Cleveland Wedding PhotographyI love being creative with the dress, I set this image up on the pier overlooking lake Erie. After I snapped a few photos, her father came out (I love this!) and asked to be in the photograph! So funny, I love this, it’s says so much about their fun father/daughter relationship!Cleveland Wedding PhotographyAs I said, I met these two in person for the first time on their wedding day. I was so excited to spend time with them – they both have such friendly and kind personalities. They both just set you at ease with their kindness and friendlessness very naturally – I love it.Cleveland Wedding Photography I had sooo much fun capturing candid wedding photography of the girls and guys getting dressed. A good way to tell the story of a wedding day is with photojournalistic wedding photography, you get such a good “feel” of what a day was like in those fleeting moments.Cleveland Wedding PhotographyWorking with the girls to create some unique wedding photography was so much fun! I worked hard to push the envelopes of the spring time light we were getting out on the pier, and these images just shine. Girls – you look great!!Cleveland Wedding PhotographyThe guys were no different – this group was a blast. We created these wedding photographs at Mon Ami Winery, down in the wine cellars. These are some of my very favorite wedding photographs I’ve ever created too – such a cool & unique feel to them!Cleveland Wedding PhotographyYup – these two are some of the coolest groomsmen images ever, I worked with an architectural lens (TS/E 24MM for the photographers out there) to create a sweet and different perspective.Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyEmily & James opted to have their creative wedding photography session occur prior to their wedding at Mon Ami Winery. I found a nice spot to have James wait for his bride – and candidly captured there first few moments together.Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyCreative Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyThe stop motion animation was fun to make – I created this without Emily & James knowing. I love seeing this moment unfold!Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyWhile the two had a few moments to enjoy each-other, I was candidly capturing these wonderful moments from afar. After a few minutes of privacy, the three of us set out to create some epic wedding photography at Mon Ami Winery.Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyMy style of wedding photography is a lot of fun – rooted in creative exploration and personality – rather than simple posing. We set off and created some creative and artsy wedding photograph all around the venue. Each image is unique, non-rehearsed, uncontrived, and speaks volumes of who Emily and James are as a couple.Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyAfter some creative time together (and a little bit of rain we ran from 🙂 ) it was time for their wedding ceremony – in the wine cellar!
Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyThis romantic, intimate, & candle-lit wedding ceremony in the wine cellar at Mon Ami was a joy to photograph. There is so much intimacy & such a feel to these images, they really capture the mood of Emily & James’ wedding.
Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyNot only was it a joy to capture these wedding photographs in the wine cellar, but it was definitely a challenge! Low light wedding photography is something that requires a lot of ingenuity, a steady hand, and just the right lens collection. It took everything I had to not miss a moment – and I’m uber thankful for my 85mm 1.2 & My Canon 5Dm2!Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyTheir wedding reception at Mon Ami Winery was epic and beautiful – and full of personal detail & touches. Their wedding favors were small plants that each guest could take home and plant. Socially conscious and creative – love it!Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyThe speeches at the wedding reception were intimate, well timed, full of laughter and joy. Emily’s father’s speech in and of itself was one of the finest I’ve heard to date. I found myself laughing and enjoying with their families as every moment unfolded.Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyMon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyAnd the party? Epic – everyone was up dancing! Friends & family were awesome to see on the dance floor – so much joy!Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyTheir wedding ringshot was fun to create as well. I snagged quite a few, but this was one of my favorites, utilizing one of their wedding favors – such cool plants!Mon Ami Winery Wedding PhotographyEmily & James, it was such a joy to be your wedding photographer! Although I’m in Cleveland and you’re in Florida, I look to the days ahead when you visit your family & friends out this way – you have to come in and say hi! Congratulations, and we wish you many great years ahead friends!
