Next year I have the very great privilege of documenting Nadi and Matthew’s wedding day, and I can’t tell you how excited I am. They are a sweet couple with a genuine love and care for each-other that shines.
I love couples like this – it’s not just about getting engagement session photos done for the sake of a check-list – nope – it’s about having artistic and modern engagement session photography done to capture and document the depth of their love.
The reason I photograph engagement sessions isn’t because it’s a way for us to pay the bills – rather it’s a way for me to get to know my couples on a deeper level than a simple meeting can provide. I spend time getting to know them both personally and photographically.
It’s so much fun – and that’s why I love engagement sessions in Cleveland. I truly have a blast photographing my couples and getting to know them, which in turn helps their wedding photography be that much more natural and authentic come the big day.
I like images that carry life and energy – not dead or lifeless snapshots that we all to often see. Int his day of over-repeated and over-processed images I love giving our clients images that are natural, fresh and fun.
The summer sun was setting behind us as we captured these late afternoon images. It was just bordering on the edge of fall when we captured these, and it was so easy to help these two relax and be themselves in front of the camera. The “light bleeds’ you’re seeing in my imagery are completely natural and real – not something done in photoshop, but actually created in-camera.
I love how Matthew loves Nadi. I’m not just saying that. I’ve worked with a lot of couples, and Matthew’s love for Nadi is what love songs are made of. He deeply cares for his bride and she deeply loves him back. Being around them is magical, and is a testament to what true love is.
It had just rained heavily a day prior, so we found his awesome puddle out in the field we were working in. 
I love that these two brought a tandem bike to their engagement session – it was fun!
I silhouetted thees images against the setting sun. I’m just so in love with the color and tonality of the set.
And this natural love is why I’m so excited to be their cleveland wedding photographer next year! They have such a joy and authenticity around them that flowed through their engagement session so naturally. I consider them not just clients but friends – and am thrilled to get to know them more in the days to come.
