Salina & Ken had an awesome wedding day in Akron, full of love family and friends. Because their relationship and love is truly a work of art, it was fitting for them to have their wedding at the Akron Art Museum.
It was a sweet day with a really small bridal party. I’ve worked with bridal parties as large as 26, but I loved the intimacy their small group created as we created together.
I met up with Salina and the ladies at the salon in the morning, just so I could document the little candid moments of the day. Funny enough, one of the hairdressers is one of my brides for this coming year – so fun to see our clients out and about 🙂
I’m a nut for the little detail images and the candid moments that make up the story of a wedding day. I think that being a modern wedding photographer in Akron means that storytelling happens best by being a photojournalistic wedding photographer. 
Those little moments – they really go by so quickly. You have got to have a great wedding photographer photograph your wedding day, or so many memories are left forever forgotten. There are many great wedding photographers in Akron. I’m not a believer that our style of modern photography in akron is perfect for every couple, but I’m always a fan of couples investing in the very best wedding photographer they can find.
I found Ken outside of the Akron Art Museum – we had set up a private “first look” for Ken and Salina on their wedding day. I took a few moments with him and got to photograph his nerd-a-licious Transformer cuff links.
One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is when we’re out and about with a bride, everyone loves to drive by and honk yelling “congratulations”. It’s such a special day, and I love how a community celebrates and cheers on a couple on their wedding day.
First looks or private introductions on a wedding day are always fun. This isn’t the right fit for all of our clients, but certainly was for Salina & Ken. With their wedding later that day at the Akron Museum of Art, they didn’t have a lot of time between the ceremony and reception for creative images, so we chose to leverage the time in the afternoon to make our artwork happen.
And artwork happened. With a wedding at the Akron Museum of Art, you have got to expect that your wedding photographer will be an artist, not just a person with a camera. I escorted the two around Akron for a creative wedding photography session.
I love the use of architecture, space and lines in wedding photography. A good modern wedding photographer in Akron has tons of options to use to create a scene. I found this kick-butt staircase and had a lot of fun creating some dynamic and artsy wedding images with it.
With the two having a wedding at the Akron Art Museum, it felt fitting to do much of our creative wedding photography around the art museum itself.
We finished our creative photography session all around the Akron Art Museum. With their wedding at the Akron Art Museum about an hour away, and the rain beating around outside, we created some fabulous wedding photography inside the Akron Museum of Art itself. 
I love the color of this image, and the life and fun you can feel coming from it!

Ken and Salina are such a sweet couple. They gracefully handled themselves as we created together. Each one of their wedding images carries so much personality and are such a fitting tribute to who they are as people. 
The akron Art Museum is an awesome place to have a wedding. I loved the moment that Ken’s aunt and uncle walked into the Art Museum and were caught by its grandeur. What an impact!

The wedding details for their wedding reception at the Akron Art Museum were off the chart. They had a four tier cake with cute versions of Han Solo and Princess Leia – a true homage to their inner-nerds.
Honestly, the Akron Art Museum phenomenal for a wedding photographer. So many unique vantage points, and so much cool architecture. Gahhh!! I freaking love it.
The night was a fun party – a sweet way to kick of Salina and Ken’s marriage. Many congratulations to you two – I’m so thankful we got to create this art together – thank you so much friends!!
