It gives us great joy and honor to present to you our winners for this years “Image of the Year”” competition at Making the Moment Photography. Congratulations to all of our 92 nominees, as well as our top 20 finalists. It was a hard fight for you all, with nearly 8,000 votes being cast over the last week and a half. We proudly anounce the top three images of the year!

1st Place: “The Danger Zone”

Crafted by Holly, this amazingly well thought out image of Aaron and Lisa is such a fantastic example of a well crafted piece of wedding artwork. Not only do the lines of the image work so perfectly with the immaculate composition, the inclusion of the planes are such a fit to Aaron and Lisa’s Wedding day. Featured here on our blog, Lisa & Aaron’s vintage air themed plane wedding speaks to their timeless love and Aaron’s career as a pilot in the Army. Over 500 votes were cast for this image – amazing.

2nd Place: “Pieces and Hearts”

Second place doesn’t mean that this image doesn’t rock – the vote margin between this image and first place was razor thin. Roughly 25 votes separated this image from winning first place. Brett crafted this image out of roughly 100 individual images he captured of Erin & Judson during their engagement session in Cleveland. Cutting and piecing the images together, Brett spent nearly ten hours in post production crafting this masterpiece for the two as a tribute to the many pieces and parts that make up who a couple is.

3rd Place: “In Tandem”

Aly and Andy also fought hard for their image from their cleveland wedding to win the prize, and also came super close to taking it all. Created by Vince as a tribute to their friendship and love for bikes, it’s a wonderful image. Best friends who live life together, Andy & Aly’s wedding at the House of Blues was one of our favorites from the year, and this unassuming image is sweet and impacting all at once.
