The first time I met Katie and her mom in our office, I knew this was going to be a great wedding. For real. I even have it in my notes – I wrote “yes, this girl is freaking awesome and her mom is super nice and snazzy”.
I hadn’t met Garrett yet (he’s a golf pro and wasn’t going to be back in Ohio for a bit) but after a few minutes with Katie and her mom I could tell that Garrett was pretty cool. And I was right ๐
Yes. I geek out over cool images of shoes and jewelry. I come from an ad agency background, so I like to bring that end of things into my wedding photography coverage.
Katie’s florist was the bomb. It was Katie ๐
I loved getting to know Katie and the gals in the morning.
Meet Katie’s veil. Photographed in the room she grew up in, on the walls she helped paint clouds on. Pretty cool. The robot that counterbalances the image is something she made as a kid. I like the dichotomy of the image – the transition of childhood to… weddinghood. yes. Weddinghood. Marriagehood.
I freaking love her dress – yay! I also love the fact that I did not have a small incident with the ceiling fan while making this shot happen. Nope.
I snuck over and got see see Garrett and the men getting ready too – I love getting to know the whole bridal party before a day begins!
We timed it just right – when I got back to the church Katie was ready to get her dress on!
I love these candids from their wedding ceremony – black and whites are the bomb.
As we went to start the creative session downtown it began to rain a bit. Actually – a ton. Like bad. Thankfully, we had thought
These were really fun to coordinate – love it.
I really enjoy the group on the lower right who holds up for a second – LOL ๐
We stopped downstairs for a quick drink at the chocolate bar. When we were finished, the rain had let up and we had some awesome puddles to play with.
Katie and Garrett had their wedding reception at the Cleveland House of Blues, but before we went in we got some nice images of the city-scape outside. I love my city.
I also love when groomsmen lick the groom. Freaking hilarious.
I love the natural and real side of wedding photography. This is totally Garrett and Katie.
The House of Blues rocks. Pun intended.
Elvis actually showed up at the reception – and sang some classic songs for the dinner crowd.
And then it got crazy. That’s right. The same groomsmen who was licking Garrett in the image above decided to run up on stage and dry hump Elvis. That’s probably the first time anyone has ever written those words down together. Probably.
How cool is this?!? They had a caricture artist walking around during dinner doing 60-second or less caricatures. Pretty awesome!
What a night – party courtesy of Rock the House entertainment. Great job guys!
I love these two – and I’m so thankful they asked me to be their wedding photographer and friend – congrats guys!
