I am thankful for these people. These friends. These co-laborers. These artists. These fellow visionaries. These story-tellers. This assemblage of humble creatives that make up our team.
These people – this is the team. This is Making the Moment.
This year represents our tenth year in business. Years prior, I had a vision – a hope – of leading a small team of creatives. You see, I’m not a “go it solo” kind of guy. I’ve always loved people. I’ve always loved the way I’m pushed, grown and challenged by others.
Vince has been on the team for 5 years now. Isn’t that crazy? This man moved – uprooting his family for this job. He and his 3 boys (4th on the way) sold their home, and moved from Michigan to Rocky River Ohio, all to be a part of this crazy adventure of creativity. He’s stood by me during tough times, and stepped up in deep ways. He’s not only a kick ass photographer, but a kick ass friend.
We would all be lost without Renee. She knows it too 🙂 She keeps our heads on straight – she is our conscience. She is the glue that keeps four crazy photographers on track and on schedule.
She’s also probably our clients favorite person ever. I hear more people praise Renee than anyone else on the team. I met Renee at College nearly 14 years ago (wow. that’s nuts). Nearly 4 years ago she began working with me, and I can never thank her enough for what she does here.
Sara is gifted – another one of our team who has moved from far away to join in on this creative undertaking we call a photography business. More than being an adventurous risk taker, she is a savant – creatively gifted in a number of outlets. (You should hear this girl sing – I’m pretty sure she could beat my american idol audition any day) She has a heart and care for people like you rarely see elsewhere.
Marcus is more than just a tall and athletic man beast, he’s a wicked intelligent and forthright creative. He’s incredibly fun to be around – inspiring in the way he challenges and connects with those around him. He’s not only a genius behind the lens, he is also a humble and yet freakishly gifted musician.
This is us in the fall – right in front of our current office in westlake, right by Crocker park. Yes. I know. It does look like the cover of the “Friends” boxed set.
Here’s us in front of our other home; Cleveland. We are HUGE fans of the comeback city. I love this town. This is our home. We know these streets like the back of our hand. We have photographed nearly every alley and every venue. We’ve even been chased by the cops a few times.
Ok, no cop chases. But it did sound super cool right? I felt really bad ass for a minute there.
We’re friends. Yes – we’re professionals, but we are dorky and fun. And we look great on couches in fields. If you ever need a group of people to look great on a love seat out in the middle of nowhere – that’s us.
This team – this specific group of fine people – has meant so much to me. They’ve re-inspired me as a photographer, as a person, and as a leader. I’m thankful to have them alongside me.
Oh – my personal favorite. Our super dynamic “movie-poster” group photo. LOL.
