Senior Portraits

As a photographer, I think senior portraits area a lot of fun, and I really enjoy getting the opportunity to do them. As you’ll see across this site, my approach to photography is a custom approach, more non-traditional in nature. I’m not the type of photographer who simply sits people in front of backdrops in my studio, instead I prefer working from scratch – being more creative.

Different From your Friend’s Portraits

Because I believe in making a photo session fun (not stiff and awkward!) I like to make sure the location we choose is fun, full of potential, and fitting to the personality of the senior I’m working with. Usually I recommend a favorite park or location – someplace fun and more “you”. I can certainly make quite a few recommendations for fun spots – whether you’d like more of an urban setting, or enjoy nature – there are so many great locations I can recommend!

When working with seniors for their senior portraiture, I really embrace the concept of throwing out the “traditional” approach, and try to make every session an individual art session. I truly mean this – I deeply desire to work with young men and women who want to approach our time as a unique, uncanned, creative session.

Artistic Retouching Included

Here’s the nice thing about what I do – I’m more of an artist with how I work, so any images that I make available for order have been artistically retouched (versus just providing “off-the-camera” images). You’ll get a nice mix of images, from full color to black and white, to other fun artistic renderings. I do provide general/minor blemish retouching with my package, but if something more is needed, I do have an add-on available as well.

Session Pricing

As for fees, here is how I work. My Senior Portrait Package is pretty simple, but a bit better than what “traditional” studios offer. I include a 60 minute session, short-range travel, and a custom proof-site from where you can make individual or group print orders from my high-quality lab. And better than anything – if you and I become facebook friends – I’ll post the images for you to tag up and use to your hearts desire.

To cover the above package – I only charge a one time fee of $199. My fees are pretty competitive, but I always like to remind people of the custom end of what I do, and the unique shots that I provide my clients. The big thing you’re paying for with me? To get those shots that no one else has – I like to be as unique as I can with any given shoot. Not to sell myself too much, but I’m also a lot of fun to work with.

Want an idea of what a session with me can produce?  Check out Cara, a North Ridgeville senior who graduated this past year. Cara was really worried about being in front of the camera, but by the end of our time together, we had a blast together, and made some nice imagery. If you haven’t yet seen it – here is a link;

Beyond the assortment of wallet size prints and other standard prints I offer, I also have some nice hard-back books, graduation announcement cards, and other fun items available for order separately if you’d like.
