I started taking pictures around 1998 as something fun to do. I got the bug and the rest is history.
I will break 100 weddings this year, and it is still game day for me. Driving to each wedding I always have the perfect mix tape rocking the car at 8am. If people wouldn’t make fun of me I would probably even where sun block strips under my eyes or maybe paint my face
Yes I am full time, and I could never do anything else. Photography is a huge part of who I am.
Getting recognized for hard work is a huge honor for me. In 2006 I won an Emmy Award, under the Magazine Category for editing, video and writing. In 2011 I placed second in a Rangefinder (nationally published and acclaimed photography magazine) Photo Contest. In 2011-2012 I was honored with Brides Choice Awards for Wedding Wire and Martha Stewart Weddings. I have also been published in several local and national magazines and blogs.
The Person Behind the Lens
Your wedding photographer is so much more than just a portfolio or a set of “FAQs”, he or she is a real person with a real life. We believe that at the heart of good wedding photography is a healthy relationship between a couple and their photographer. With that in mind, take some time and get to know Vince a bit better with the questions below.
I love seeing the different emotions clients have when viewing their wedding pictures for the first time. Very few types of photography allow you to be there when people see your work, and yes most of the time I am tearing up too.
I have two photographers who have inspired me;
The first is John Michael Cooper. A photographer who taught me I could be different, that I could be myself and make images that show my artistic vision. He is also the wedding photographer who started the trash the dress craze.
The second photographer is Esther Havens. Her ability to use her photographic gifts to change the world drives me to do more. Esther’s work made me realize that God can use photography to bring joy, hope and love to people who need help the most.
Risk, and Stratego(the old school one)
Two Five Hour Energy drinks followed my a couple Rockstar chasers, and finished off with a 44 oz Mountain Dew. Really I just love to have fun, to laugh, be silly and to be moved to the point of tears during the special moments, doing it all to the sweet sound of the shutter firing.
My Awesomeness!…..just kidding Being a professional comes from being proficient. In photography this means mastering the rules, and then learning how to break them. Reaching this point allowed me to start capturing images not just by placing the camera to my eye and pushing the button, but instead seeing light, lines, shadows, and highlights, and how I can use them to create something truly unique in that special moment.
I am married to the love of my life Kendra. She is smoking hot and way too good looking to be with me, but please don’t tell her. We have two boys and hopefully a little girl on the way.
This one is super easy, because it happens once a year for me. Christmas day I wake up to hot cinnamon roles and presents, enjoying time with family, and eating good food all day. It always makes me feel so good.
This really changes from week to week, but some of my all time favorites are U2, One Republic, Bon Jovi, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, Rascal Flatts, Chicago, Rush, Boston – just to name a few.
This may shock you…wait for it. I still love to do creative video work, just ask Brett about our Fusion videos, and you will see just how much.
It is a tie between a month long trip backpacking in Italy, or a month long trek across India.
I have two lenses that I never leave home without; the 35mm 1.4 and 50mm 1.4. They are so important when shooting weddings because they are super fast, super sharp and super awesome in low light.
Lacrosse was my game, go Genny Nation! Now I am staying in the game through coaching both my boys lacrosse teams
Our dog Penny is the cutest, most loving American Cocker Spaniel you will ever meet. Not only does she keep my side of the bed warm when I am on the road, she helps keep my wife happy when I can’t be there.
