Celebrating a Timeless Couple
In Idyllic Winter Wedding Bliss.
The Art and Story of Mariah + Caleb
Ahhh winter weddings. We know that most brides are gunning for those warm temperatures and blue skies of a June wedding date, but there’s something really special about a winter wedding. The light dusting of snow, the holiday-esque decor that may be featured, the rich colors, we love it all! Plus, it gives you an extra excuse to snuggle up close to your spouse-to-be 😉
Mariah + Caleb celebrated their wedding on a gorgeous December Saturday, where we were, in fact, lucky enough to have just enough snow to make for a beautiful winter scene. [ If you’re from Cleveland, you know that that is never guaranteed, even in the middle of those cold months. ] Everything was perfectly curated for a classy and romantic wedding, as you’ll see.
Let’s begin with a few key moments from their day, starting with this awesomely artsy bridal portrait of Mariah. As this was a pre-christmas wedding I worked in some vintage christmas lights in the foreground of the image for some holiday pizaz [ yes, I just used the word PIZAZ; if you spell it incorrectly it’s too close to the word pizzas FYI ]
And during their wedding ceremony [ indoor wedding ceremony of course at the Grand Resort in Warren ohio ] I spied a pretty amazing opportunity with their shadows.
And that gorgeous winter wonderland I was talking about earlier makes for some amazing winter wedding photography 😍
Somehow these ladies are impervious [ good word ] to the cold 🥶
The guys always have it a bit easier.
But Caleb made sure to keep Mariah plenty warm 🥰
”Brett and his team were fabulous. We felt comfortable being ourselves while getting our portraits done, so I see our true personalities shine through.

In Their Own Words.
That’s right. Every word you’ve read on this page so far regarding this wonderful wedding [ catch the alliteration there. Pretty brilliant, right? ] has all been word-smithed and crafted by us [ we’re not only gifted wedding photographers, but also not too shabby in the content writing department ] Humble Brag / Self enthusiasm aside; we mean every word on this page, but it’s important that you hear from our couple too.
We asked a few questions of them about their wedding; and hope you enjoy their answers 😀
What did you love about your wedding?
We loved being able to dance and celebrate with our guests. Everyone was so supportive so we got to enjoy a stress free day to celebrate each other.
What would you do Different?
Nothing- genuinely everything was how we hoped it would be.
What was it like to work with us?
Brett and his team were fabulous. We felt comfortable being ourselves while getting our portraits done, so I see our true personalities shine through. We liked that the team went with the flow while also directing us so we stayed on track with our timeline without the stress!
What photograph(s) are connecting emotionally?
We love the picture during our first dance that the indoor fireworks were going off. We have gotten so many compliments on it.
Did you have a theme you were trying to hit for your wedding [ vibe / color palette / etc ]?
We wanted to stick with a minimalistic theme of black/white while incorporating touches of Christmas. We loved the moody lighting from the candles and Christmas trees to make a romantic feel for the evening.
Yes, fast forward and there was plenty of warmth to be had on the dance floor!
As seen here 🕺
But there are definitely some uber thoughtful bridal inspiration I want to share with you first! Like these amazing personalized bridesmaid’s ornaments shaped like candy canes!
And the fully personalized newspaper wedding program. This is definitely a trend we can get behind.
Being able to take advantage of tasteful holiday decor is just one reason why all you engaged folks should be considering a winter wedding. Just saying.
I think you’ll enjoy the next series of images. I couldn’t resist putting them in black + white. Something about it just makes all the facial expressions and fun reactions pop!
We couldn’t fake this stuff even if we tried!
This is just one of the many images from this wedding that could’ve been pulled straight out of a 1950s bridal magazine.
Classic.
And classic-er.
Classic-est?
Oh, hello romance! Between the casual pyrotechnics and literal sweep-her-off-her-feet moment, it really doesn’t get much dreamier than this 😍
Swoon-worthy.
Mariah was a truly gorgeous bride. Understated, beautiful, and all-around timeless.
Her bridesmaids definitely agreed!
Having that reaction from your bride squad is just the best.
The only thing that might top it is the reaction from your hubby-to-be!
Dang, I just love a first look. There’s so much anticipation leading up to it, and the result is always so special.
Magazine. Cover. Right here.
December does not always cooperate, but we really lucked out! The perfect snow, the lovely sky, and that golden hour light 🤌
I think they’re in love.
Mariah + Caleb shared a very personal moment together before their ceremony, where they exchanged their personal vows to each other. Another tear jerker 🥹
And the best part is that they’ll have these to treasure FOREVER.
Their ceremony and reception were both held at The Grand Resort in Warren, Ohio. Again, the classiest.
1950s bridal magazine. I told you.
Married 🙌🍾🎉
The perfect recessional image does exist.
So does the perfect romantic head table woweewow 🕯️
My favorite part is the chilled champagne bucket waiting for the newlyweds. What a thoughtful touch.
Speaking of thoughtful, the speeches were exactly that.
With a healthy dose of laughter, always.
I love this image so much I included it again! But this time in black and white. For obvious reasons.
Moments shared between father and daughter on her wedding day are seriously priceless.
Same for mother and son 🥰
It wasn’t long, though, before it became a class-A rager!
What makes a wedding reception dance floor awesome? A great DJ, fun lights, and all your craziest pals in one place.
[ Also, while not required, alcohol definitely helps 🍻 ]
I can neither confirm nor deny the groom’s sobriety in this moment.
But I CAN confirm that everyone was having a rockin’ good time!
Especially these two.
And our happy couple, of course 🥰
Mariah + Caleb, we had the best time being a part of your perfect wedding day. Cheers to you and your wonderful future together 🥂
