Meet Jill and Jake – two fine folks whom I enjoy very much. They’re also two people whose wedding I recently had the great pleasure of photographatizing.
Jake is the strong silent type. He’s really kind and endearing – he carries a silent strength and purpose about him that I don’t often encounter. I like him. Jill told me that after they left Making the Moment’s office when we first met that the first words out of his mouth were “that’s the guy”. ๐
Jill is totally the bubbly outgoing one of the two – she’s got a joy and a authenticity to her that I’m blown away by. After we first met last July she was so excited about us working together – and I was too.
Gaahhh – I love jewelry and detail shots. I come from a product and advertisement photography background, and it still finds it’s way into my work as a wedding photographer.
More than “stuff” though – I love story. I like candids. I like story-telling imagery – I like to capture people in the moment – to grab the essence of a small slice of time and hold onto it for eternity.
Speaking of Story. Above is Jills’ Mother – Susanne. She passed away two years ago – and Jill (being the awesome daughter she is) thought it important to honor her memory and ensure she was a part of the wedding day. I asked her to bring a framed image of her mother, and I found subtle ways to bring her into the Jill’s day. I really think these images are special and telling.
Check out the ladies celebrating!
Check out Jake celebrating! ๐
I’m now a father of two little girls – so I appreciated this guest doing his “fatherly” duties in the back of the church. I laughed so hard at his reaction.
Ok – so… I am starting this running tradition of placing a random non-related wedding story into my blog entries just to see if people are really reading what I write or not. I know there are a lot of cool images here… but are you reading my snarky one-liners? To that end (keep reading below)…
To that end – if you’re still reading my fun little paragraphs – I want you to leave in the comments a quick haiku about Jill and Jake. Don’t know what a haiku is? It’s a japanese poem consisting of three lines. each line has a different syllable count – the first has five syllables, the second seven, the third five. Read my example below the next image.
Jill and Jake are cool. I like their pictures so much. I love taco bell.
Ok – so you get the idea. Anyways – five seven five. Go for it. If you do it – I will give you a haiku back.
They had their reception at Springvale ballroom in North olmsted. Check how much fun they had entering ๐
I LOVE party images at receptions. I like to stay late at receptions to get the best images – cuz that’s when people are usually the least sober – and the most fun in front of the camera ๐ #honesty
JIll. Jake. You two have a special spot in my heart. I’m SO thrilled for you two. I wish you many great years together – and I hope the day comes where I photograph you again!!
