This is Natalie & Joe. They’re this pretty nifty couple I met in July – they asked me to be their wedding photographer, and when I found out how awesome they were, I freaked out a bit 🙂
They have a story to tell – they love eachother.
I think sometimes we wedding photographers tend to overcomplicate that message. We get all photoshop crazy. We make couples get into awkward poses. We make them them go around in public places and make out everywhere. We edit dinosaurs into images. I think all that stuff is really dumb.
Yes – I said it. It can all be too much. The photography I value, is photography that tells the story of people. Simple and true. The heart of good wedding and engagement photography is two people who fell in love.
If those people are laughing – they’re laughing. If they’re in love – you’ll believe it.
A fancy lens doesn’t make people look good. An experienced image crafter does. A new trend in digital editing doesn’t bring an image to life. Only a person can do that.
Joe and Natalie are in love. They’re great people. They’re fun – fantastic – and laugh easy. They love each other. I’m a big fan of the two of them.
It wasn’t the photography that made that happen though – it was their love that made these images. Many wedding photographers get that backwards. I promise we’ll never do that here.
I can’t wait for you two next year. We’re gonna rock it.
