I really love this wedding. It doesn’t hurt that I really really really love this couple, but I totally dig their wedding too. If you know Natalie and Joe then you already know why I’m writing this. Don’t know them? Check out their images – I think you’ll figure out tons about them simply by peering into their wedding day.
I’m a sucker for wide images. Although most of my images are much closer in capture… there is something about the environment of a wide angle image that speaks volumes. I photograph a lot of my imagery with architectural lenses (we actually do a fair amount of commercial interior and exterior imaging for construction and architecture firms in Cleveland – so having these lenses handy is important).
Right from architectural to photojournalistic photography we go π I love this black and white of Natalie reading a letter from Joe in the morning. I left this slightly underexposed to grab some of the mood. Too often photographers overexpose or brighten up images, loosing the power of the mystery of a moment.
Natalie was spending the morning in the room she grew up in at her parents house that morning.
I like that. It often makes sense to get ready in a hotel downtown – but there is something sentimental about being in your family home on a wedding day you just can’t beat.
I photographed all of Natalie’s shoes / accessories / bling around the home. While viewing their images for the first time with me, she told me she loved seeing the yard she grew up in featured in her wedding dress and detail imagery.
Joe got Natalie a real fancy schmancy wedding day gift π
And everyone freaked out. They were like “oooooh gurlllll – that is super fancy schmancy!!”. Maybe. Maybe they said that. It could have been more eloquent, but sometimes I like inserting my own verbal captions into images.
The girls were freaking awesome all morning. LOVE this group.
Seriously – putting on your wedding dress in the room you put on your prom dress in? You can’t beat that.
AHHH! I love these!
I β₯ this image. Natalie’s sister and friends are helping here – they love her.
And yup – Natalie looks FABULOUS. No doubt.
Ok – this is really freaking cool – see Natalie’s dad? He’s seeing his daughter for the first time – as she comes down the stairs in their family home. The night they saw their images, Natalie was weeping over these – she told me that her father envisioned this very image when he had the spiral staircase built. Pretty cool.
As a father myself, I am already imagining what it will be like the day one of my daughters is wed. Oh geez. Now I’m crying too!
LOL – I LOVE these pictures – Love the fun the girls are!!
Natalie isn’t just fun – she’s elegant. Seriously – she’s super refined and a natural in front o the camera. I love the black and white on the right… but love the life that the color image on the left brings.
These two were wed at St Colmans in Cleveland. I spent some time before their wedding ceremony photographing candid wedding photography of the guests.
I also snuck up on the reading alter before the ceremony began to snap this wide angle image of everyone in attendance. Pretty cool.
Check out Joe – I love seeing a man’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle.
Woohoo – they are married!
LOVE this image – we struck down an alley before the reception – I love the lift Natalie’s veil caught.
If you haven’t caught it – I have a thing for elegant images – especially when a bride has a killer veil. (say that aloud – it’s like your a german saying “killer whale”). You just did it didn’t you? Yes.
With their wedding reception at the Wyndham in downtown cleveland awaiting, we got straight to business.
I love wedding speeches – it’s so fun to see people’s closest friends and family cheer them on.
Natalie’s sister’s speech? Made me cry. Seriously – she loves her sis.
And then the fun began π
Speaking of fun… Natalie and Joe asked us to have our LiveBooth at their wedding reception at the Wyndham. I think the entirety of the LiveBooth could have been worth it simply for the image above π
Or the group of images above.
Or those images π
Yeah… or perhaps the image of Jessica right above. Fun fact – Jessica is a news anchor for a major TV station in the south – gotta love her “natural” look.
Above right – see that? Proof that my brides love working with me π Don’t show that picture to Joe!!
Crazy fun dancing – love the image of grandma getting down π
GAAAH – I love Ring shots. I seriously spent 30+ minutes on these… i’m really slow and something of a perfectionist with my ring photography.
But it’s not about the rings… it’s about the peeps. Much love to my friends Natalie and Joe. You two are so freaking cool that if you two ever have babies, I will cry my face off if you don’t let me photograph them.
