Ok, If you’re reading this, you probably already know everything I’m about to say. You probably already know Katie and Brent. Further, if you know anything about Katie and Brent, then you know that they live their lives to the fullest. Whether that means jumping out of a plane, or creating a robot for their wedding, they are going full force.
Full. Force.
I mean, this is the original geode Brent proposed to Katie with. He didn’t just propose with 1 beautiful, symbolic rock, he proposed with two. Queue the sighing of boyfriends everywhere. They’re realizing they have to up their game …
When I first met Katie and Brent, I remember the excitement in the room as Katie shared all of their plans for their wedding – the extravagant Alice in Wonderland decor, the entertainment, and more surprises than I thought could exist in one wedding. It was awesome! I love working with couples dedicated to serving their guests with wow factor and having fun. I could not stop looking forward to their wedding.
Btw Katie, in case you forgot, you are stunning. I captured this after she asked to see what her makeup looked like on camera. Absolutely beautiful. (Bonus points if you text Katie right now and tell her how beautiful she is).
And I’m not going to lie, it took 5 people to help her put her shoes on, but it was obviously worth it because those shoes were on fleek.
She had the best bridesmaids. They are as fun as Katie is and the attitude could not be contained.
As their wedding day unfolded I began to notice movie and TV references sprinkled throughout their day, from the very beginning to the very end. This was definitely the wedding for movie buffs.
Brent and Katie were married in the only place that could match the grandeur of their wedding plans – The Old Courthouse in downtown Cleveland.
If you were a guest at their wedding, you would have heard the awesome introduction by Patrick Stewart, making everyone feel like they were about to get splashed by a whale at SeaWorld, followed by their vows full of love, and pop culture references.
When it came time for the rings, the Best Man had lost them. It was kind of tense … I mean, just look at how pissed Brent is …
… until R2D2, matching wedding colors and all, saved the day and showed up as Ring Bearer. This is the droid you’re looking for. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a wedding ceremony. Brent had spent months creating R2D2 himself. Like, actually printing the parts and putting them together. This man has skill, talent, and dedication, and it totally shows. Who gets to say R2D2 was their Ring Bearer?
Furthermore, who gets to say “I married my best friend of 15 years”?
What I learned about Katie and Brent, is that they are story tellers. They value epic stories …
… and want to share their own the rest of their lives.
Their reception was perfectly decorated for their wonderland feel. The uplighting, lanterns and chandeliers tied it all together at Windows on the River in Cleveland.
Their Alice in Wonderland cake was wonderful.
Katie and Brent put together a hilariously awesome video together for their guests.
Afterwards, they continued to be even more epic by performing the iconic dance from Dirty Dancing. It was so. good.
Also, their bridal party was amazing and participated in a lip sync battle. It was SO freaking awesome how much fun everyone was having. Like, who does all this? Oh right, we’re talking about Katie and Brent. They do.
The dance floor was full of long hair don’t care moments.
Some may have taken their shirts off (you know who you are).
The spirit animal Beyoncé was definitely present for your 7/11 choreography.
Here’s to you Katie and Brent – may you always live life as vivaciously as you do now, full of adventure, wonder, and love.
