When I first met Alison and Paul I could see right away how they felt about each other. When we first met, we had an instant connection. A couple of westsiders who decided they wanted a simple wedding to express their very simple yet real love for each other. No big churches or receptions halls, just their closest friends and family on the shore of Lake Erie. Their day could not have been more perfect.
Before I share Alison and Paul’s day, I want to first jump ahead and show you how it ended. Every moment shared lead to this image. Alison talked about a wanting to do an evening image early on, and I am so happy that an amazing day ended with such a stellar image.
Twelve hours earlier the sun was beautiful in the morning with a nice breeze perfect to show of Alison’s dress.
Both the girls and the guys got ready in Paul’s parents house in Huron. An amazing place that Paul’s dad helped build around the original cottage. Inside there are elements of the original home.
This group of girls made up of mostly family was a blast. The silly moments were not coached; they just happened. Their personalities really show in the images.
Paul and his groomsmen got ready downstairs, and then we went outside for some image on the lake.
Paul’s daughter was so cute all day, and even though this portrait is so simple, I just love it.
Best bar ever! Brewskies in a boat, hell yeah!
Alison got dressed in this beautiful room that had a larger window over looking the lake. This was truly a dream wedding, and this moment was so special.
What a great spot for Alison and Paul to see each-other for the first time. Right on the lake in spot that has and always will be special.
I loved the moments shared in the first look. The joy shared is so real and yet so private for the couple on the wedding day. It makes me smile every time, and when a grooms tears up, it’s wonderful. Knowing Paul, I think he is going for the “there was something in my eye” story.
If you have never been to Northern Ohio it’s full of old barns (most of which are still in use). We found just a few minutes away for some fun rustic images.
Remember how I told you Paul and Alison were so much fun? They were actually taking this image on their iPhone, so I jumped in and grabbed one too. So funny!
The ceremony took place right on the water overlooking the lake. Beautiful!
The light breeze in the morning turned into high winds for the ceremony. At least it was warm, and it lead to some awesome images and fun moments.
For real…water was splashing up behind us during the ceremony. What an amazing time for the first kiss!
The high wind forced us inside a tent for the reception but it was still decorated beautifully. The cuisine was amazing – catered by Driftwood Catering…yum!
There was so many fun moments during the reception. My favorite is when Paul’s mom brought out large sparklers, They were so much fun and I am really glad they didn’t burn the tent down.
The dancing rocked all night thanks to Rock the House Entertainment.
Paul and Alison got their pretty and simple wedding they also had fun and truly knew how to celebrate one the most special days in their lives. Congrats you two!
