This wedding absolutely has a special place in my heart. I mean this – I’m not just saying that because that’s the polite thing to write about one of our couple’s on the blog, it’s because it’s true.
People and stories are important to me – that’s why I am a wedding photographer. Yes, it’s fun to take pretty pictures of pretty people – but it’s more than just clicking a button.
It’s people like Megan and Tim that make my profession so enjoyable.
I first met Megan two years ago at Lauren and Kyle’s wedding. Megan was a bridesmaid – her and I hit it off and became buddies. Lauren is the pretty lady on the left with Megan. The woman on the right with Megan is her mother. I love that Megan chose to remember both women in her life on her wedding day in her bouquet – to carry with her the memories of women she loves and enjoys. Loss is hard – but how we honor the memory of those we lose is what makes their impact in our lives substantial and meaningful.
Oh man. How can you not love all of Megan’s handmade bouquets? Also; Pink rock candy? #NomNomNom
I love jewelry photography.
I love people photography more.
The back of Megan’s dress had this Gatzby inspired open back where her pearls could hang. It was lovely.
Meanwhile… the men had mustache socks.
I cried here. For real. Megan seeing her dad for the first time made my eyes well up. He loves his daughter – and as a man who loves his own daughters, I love when I see this in a father.
I cried here too. For real. I’m a big bag of tears these days it seems. I loved Tim’s joy.
LOL – this was endearing – Megan’s father had an aerial drone so he could capture some candid moments from the sky. I’m a tech nerd dad – so I get it.
I’ve had a few photographers complement me on how I photograph men’s portraits. I really enjoy these. I love this one of Tim. He’s a good lookin’ dude (man crush here people), and I enjoyed making this image.
I LOVE the reflection image I caught in the window of Megan in between images here.
Love.
This group cracked me up. It was a super fun day around downtown Toledo.
I love this wedding trend – unique necklaces for the girls in the bridal party.
Like I said, I love this group. We had a blast.
We had a ton of time too – and that’s why these images are outstanding. I actually and time to relax in the creative process with them.
What’s that in the background… is that Mad House Creative I spy? What up my friends… what up.
I had never photographed at the Toledo Club before. I was freaking blown away.
So was Tim as Megan came down the aisle.
Ahhhhhahhh!!! Rock candy again?!? Yes, I’ll have some. Why thank you.
This is the Toledo Club. Check out how gorgeous the room looks for Megan and Tim’s wedding reception!
I love these moments during speeches 🙂
Rock candy drinks!?!?!? My two favorite things combined. I can die now thank you.
What a party.
I love reception imagery. Seriously. I get to jack around with the camera and make funky images happen.
What?!!? Is that 6 of my favorite people in the whole wide world I spy? Yes. Yes it is. Alongside Megan, I feel I have traveled and lived life with the folks above in a unique way. There is too much to write here – but I feel a deep connection with these people above – and it was a GREAT joy to see and celebrate with them.
Megan. Tim. Your wedding wasn’t just sparkling diamonds, elegant settings and beautiful things – it was joyous, authentic and full of life. Just like you two. Thank you. Thank you for asking me to be a part of it.
