I’m not really an early morning person. I mean, who really is? Having kids changes all that though. My daughters wake up Colleen and I at 6 am every morning – regardless of how late we were up with friends the night before.
But for people like Keti and Saurav?
Getting up early is worth it. Especially when you get a sunrise like this.

I’ve been photographing weddings for over ten years now, and this is the first time I’ve ever introduced a couple at sun-rise.
Jeanna (my Lighting Director, and once a bride who I had the pleasure of photographing) met me at 4:30 at our location to prep. She had plenty of red bull and candy for us too. Super important stuff.
I put a lot of work into finding the perfect spot to introduce the two on the lake. I had fun – I even got uber-nerdy and even tracked sun-rise paths so I could hit things just right for them.
I would have been PISSED had it been a cloudy morning 🙂 Thank goodness – we had a beautiful sunrise to start the day. All the work (and lack of sleep from the night before!) paid off!
