The Art and Story of Leah + Doug
If you came here to see run-of-the-mill, boring wedding photography, then you’re in the wrong place. Here at Making the Moment, our artwork is never dull and we pride ourselves on creating fresh, interesting images unique to each couple, every time. A great example lies below in Leah + Doug’s wedding photography. There are beautiful portraits, important moments, plenty of candids and silly snapshots that they will remember for a lifetime. And sammiches.
The best part is that you get to see so much of their personality shine through their wedding photography! I think this is what really makes our artwork special: we’re capturing real moments and telling real stories. In this case, it’s the story of Leah + Doug. It includes anecdotes such as “Leah and Her Sandwich” and “Doug Gets Kicked on His Wedding Day”. Let’s not forget; “Amazing Wedding Reception at Tenk West Bank” 😃 All this, and more, is waiting for you below! You may now start your scroll.
And we start off with a bang 💥 That’s one heck of a wedding picture, amiright?? Over the years we’ve found a few of our favorite photography locations as wedding photographers in Cleveland, and this bridge is one of them.
Leah is an expert at facial expressions. Keep on reading, you’ll see.
Also, the Arcade. ‘Nuff said.

There are so many things to love here, but my eyes go straight to their custom wedding sticker. Are you taking notes?
Let’s focus on the groom for a moment, shall we? And the fact that there is an ironing board present in this picture. Good job, Doug, good job 👏
Doug definitely has a sentimental side, and we love to see it. What a beautiful way to remember loved ones on your wedding day 💛
”MTM and Sam were the best part of the weekend. Sam lead the charge in professionalism, leading the crowd in cheering, and getting everyone pumped for photos. He had a cool head on his shoulders, was so fun, and I wish I had 10 more of him in every other role at my wedding.

In Their Own Words.
That’s right. Every word you’ve read on this page so far regarding this wonderful wedding [ catch the alliteration there. Pretty brilliant, right? ] has all been word-smithed and crafted by us [ we’re not only gifted wedding photographers, but also not too shabby in the content writing department ] Humble Brag / Self enthusiasm aside; we mean every word on this page, but it’s important that you hear from our couple too.
We asked a few questions of them about their wedding; and hope you enjoy their answers 😀
What did you love about your wedding?
Two answers for this! My first is just having all of my most favorite people from every aspect and chapter in my life all in one room together. It was absolutely incredible, and the thought of it now brings tears to my eyes. Knowing and feeling the generosity, love and support in that room from all the people I care about in the world was unparalleled. The second is the first look. Doug and I knew we wanted to keep our vows private, but having it just be the two of us made it all the more impactful. It was something I will never forget and was the most special moment of the entire weekend.
What would you do Different?
I wish we had found a DJ that we really got to know ahead of time. Our DJ was fun and nice, but ultimately didn’t fully match our style. It was still very fun, but I wish we had found someone that was 100% what we wanted.
What was it like to work with us?
Absolutely fantastic. MTM and Sam were the best part of the weekend. Sam lead the charge in professionalism, leading the crowd in cheering, and getting everyone pumped for photos. He had a cool head on his shoulders, was so fun, and I wish I had 10 more of him in every other role at my wedding.
What photograph(s) are connecting emotionally?
Not sure yet! We’ll have to see them all to be sure! But out of the few I’ve seen, the one of the two of us in the Arcade is my favorite. I’m still crying and we’re both coming off of reading our vows and having our own private “wedding ceremony”. It was such a special moment and I’m so grateful to see it captured and memorialized.
Did you have a theme you were trying to hit for your wedding [ vibe / color palette / etc ]?
The vibe we were trying to create was a solid mix of classy and fun. Our color palette was jewel tones, but covered the whole rainbow. We had both champagne and beer welcoming the guests before the ceremony. The venue, Tenk, was industrial but still chic and classy. We wanted it to be a beautiful formal night, while still showing who we are and our fun personalities.
And now we present, “Leah and Her Sandwich” 🥪
Brides, make sure you eat on your wedding day!
Because
- If you don’t eat you die
- You’ll want to give your photographer a chance to get some awesome candids like these
Oh, and include your bridesmaids, of course.
Don’t worry! We’ll always balance it with a healthy dose of sweetness, like a genuine thank you hug.
Or a “help me with my bracelet” moment.
Heyyyyy! 👋
Father-daughter moments are such a special part of the day. Brides; make sure to schedule a first look with the father of the bride with your wedding photographer!
You can tell Leah loves this guy ☺️
If Leah had a signature face, this would definitely be it!
The Cleveland Hyatt Arcade is a perfect spot for your first look on your wedding day!
It’s so cute I’m seeing double.
Facial expression^
Words to describe Leah + Doug at the Arcade: Elegant.
Timeless.
Classy.
Elegant. Oh wait, did I already use that one? That’s ok, they’re elegant².
Every time I see this mural, it makes me want a donut. At least with our couple standing in front of it, I’m too distracted by their love to be hungry 🍩
Is it just me or does Leah’s dress make it look like she’s floating?? Maybe that’s why Doug had to step into the frame, to make sure she didn’t float away before the wedding.
At least here we can tell she’s pretty well grounded.
I’ve been wondering why she chose this moment to kick her fiancé… maybe because she wanted a little more airtime?
Looks like they kissed and made up just fine 🥰
But he’s never letting her go now.
Fast forward to their wedding ceremony at Tenk in Cleveland; Doug’s face says it all as he watches his bride walk down the aisle.
Leah’s face is also full of joy, but it’s her dad that gets me in this one. You can tell he loves his daughter, and is proud to hand her off to her groom 🥹
I don’t know what was said, but it seems pretty on brand for Leah + Doug!
Quick shoutout to Urban Stems and Tenk West Bank for setting the stage for such a lovely wedding ceremony in Cleveland!
The backdrop as they exchange their vows is simply stunning.
We have a newly married couple in the houzzz!
Congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs Bonebrake!
