The Art and Story of Kevin + Nick
If you’re from Cleveland, or even if you’ve spent five minutes in our wonderful comeback city, then you know one simple truth: Clevelanders love Cleveland. Kevin and Nick’s wedding is a great example of the best of CLE, from East 4th St, to some iconic Cleveland murals, to their industrial yet refined venue, Tenk West Bank.
Even though we see some really cool Cleveland-y stuff in their wedding artwork, Kevin + Nick’s wedding was about way more than this city. There is a beautiful love here, and it is so clear when you look at their images. Plus, you can tell that they were absolutely engulfed in the love of their friends and family all day. That’s really what it’s all about, right?
We begin our story here: with a sensible slice of breakfast pizza 🍕
While some couples choose not to see each other the morning of the wedding, Nick and Kevin wanted to spend that time together. We love to see this: a couple cherishing these hours before the ceremony and even helping each other get ready!

Casually admiring the view with a contemplative suave-ness. The question is, are they admiring the view of the city; or each other? Neither. It was the opening salvo to an epic staring contest.
This isn’t a wedding photo actually; Kevin and Nick are having a traditional pre-wedding staring contest. 😶😶😶😶😶🫣 Don’t believe me? Haven’t heard of pre-wedding staring contests before?? They’re legit; but illegal in several states due to the immense inner turmoil the losers face throughout married life.

That’s right. Every word you’ve read on this page so far regarding this wonderful wedding [ catch the alliteration there. Pretty brilliant, right? ] has all been word-smithed and crafted by us [ we’re not only gifted wedding photographers, but also not too shabby in the content writing department ] Humble Brag / Self enthusiasm aside; we mean every word on this page, but it’s important that you hear from our couple too.
We asked a few questions of them about their wedding; and hope you enjoy their answers 😀
What was one of your favorite parts of your wedding weekend?
We loved our band, Bluewater Kings, and dancing with our family and friends. The energy was so much fun and the perfect way to celebrate.
What do you wish you would've done differently?
Not much! We were really happy with the way that everything turned out. If anything, we would’ve done more late-night snacks for everyone burning calories on the dance floor.
What was it like to work with us?
We felt nothing but love from the MTM team
Do you have a favorite image or two that really connects with your heart? Why?
We loved the photos in front of the murals and abandoned bridge. They match our style and also are really cool photos.
Did you have a theme you were trying to hit for your wedding [ vibe / color palette / etc ]?
A little upscale, but not stuffy, with pops of color and fun elements (disco balls, neon lights).
It’s apparent from the image above who won the pre-wedding staring contest; you can see the shame of defeat and the pride of victory easily enough.
Ah East 4th St. I’m sure many of you reading this blog have some *interesting* memories of late nights spent here, probably involving libations and the inability to get an Uber.
Luckily for Nick and Kevin, their most memorable moments here will be from their wedding day 🥰
Staring contest part two; this time Nick stared straight into Kevin’s eyes for a solid four minutes without blinking and promptly won the competition for the rest of the day.
We had to douse his eyes with red-eye relief for like five minutes so he could blink and see again. It was intense and a little freaky but everyone has their own relationship traditions right?
One couple I worked with had a tradition of thumb wrestling before their wedding; which was fine and dandy until things got heated and several bridal party members lost thumbs.
I still flinch a little when I see someone give me a thumbs up. Are you reading this? Sometimes I write weird stuff in our photography blogs because I think people are so distracted by our amazing wedding photography that they don’t really read the words.
Guests were welcomed to Tenk for their wedding reception with a rad [ is it still acceptable to say “rad” or am I dating myself? ] chalk drawing of the Cleveland Skyline and the couple’s clever wedding hashtag.
