A Rooftop Ceremony in Downtown Cleveland
And a Tent Reception, Despite a Little Rain.
The Art and Story of Shauna + Brian
We all know the old adage: it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day! Well, Shauna + Brian really got the best of both worlds on their joyful day. The rain held out just long enough for them to celebrate a gorgeous wedding ceremony at one of our FAVORITE rooftop venues downtown: Lago East Bank [ aka Lago Custom Events ].
Spectacular views of the lake, high up above the city, and marrying your best friend? What more can you ask for?? How about an amazing, luxe-y tented wedding reception. Yes, even with a bit of rain. The good news? We made some SCHWEET photographic magic with those rain clouds. Also the good luck 😉
How fun is this?? If there’s one thing I can tell you right way about Shauna + Brian, it’s that they really are a fun-loving couple!
Of course, they also have their romantic, more serious side. One of my favorite results of rain that happened later in their wedding day? Reflections in puddles like this one. That’s what I like to call serendipity [ yes, I know lots of big words ]
And they were surrounded by tons of smiles as they were showered with love all. Day.
Our Wedding Photography is not possible
Without AMAZING Cleveland Wedding Vendors
- Wedding Reception Venue // Lago East Bank
- Wedding Florist // Diana Elizabeth Designs
- Wedding Cake // Wild Flour Bakery
- Bridal Hair Artist // Cleveland Beauty Collective
Even though we photograph a lot [ and I mean A LOT ] of weddings, and therefore a lot of wedding ring sets, each one is so unique.
And we love finding new and creative ways to capture all the details of the day 🥰
^Evidence of the aforementioned loving of fun.
”Edric and DJ are like part of the family. They seamlessly meshed with our group and laughed along with us throughout the day.
Shauna + Brian [ the Couple ]The Couple
In Their Own Words.
That’s right. Every word you’ve read on this page so far regarding this wonderful wedding [ catch the alliteration there. Pretty brilliant, right? ] has all been word-smithed and crafted by us [ we’re not only gifted wedding photographers, but also not too shabby in the content writing department ] Humble Brag / Self enthusiasm aside; we mean every word on this page, but it’s important that you hear from our couple too.
We asked a few questions of them about their wedding; and hope you enjoy their answers 😀
What did you love about your wedding?
Shauna: Finding the rainbow after our cocktail hour rainstorm! It was such a beautiful evening and the perfect sign that the party would go on!
Brian: All of our friends and family losing their minds over the cigar roller.
What would you do Different?
S: I wish I’d switched to my sneakers sooner – I had them with me but I was having so much fun dancing I didn’t want to leave even for one song. Looking back, I should’ve swapped them right after the formal dances.
B: Not forget the groom and groomsmen boutonnières in our apartment.
What was it like to work with us?
S: Edric and DJ are like part of the family. They seamlessly meshed with our group and laughed along with us throughout the day. We’re so grateful to them and the whole MTM team for being an integral part of the day’s success!
B: Edric was great. He was professional and friendly, and I was so happy to have him there.
Did you have a theme you were trying to hit for your wedding [ vibe / color palette / etc ]?
S: Our vibe was a summer garden party in the city – Bright beautiful florals complementing the green space on the veranda with the city scape and Lake Erie as our backdrop.
Who can spot it? Just a sensible dose of shenanigans 🤭
But then we balance it out with some real bad-a$$ery
It doesn’t really get cuter than this! And Brian, you are rockin’ that bouquet! Maybe that’s the newest trend?
Wedding Ceremony time! You can’t beat an outdoor wedding at the penthouse at Lago in the Cleveland Flats!
See?? We got some great sunlight for this most special part of the day 🥹
This is indeed the rooftop venue that I was talking about! Lago East Bank, in case you forgot.
Now that’s what I call a fan-FREAKING-tastic view!
Complete with our Great Lake behind them, making for a perfect backdrop.
Brian wasn’t the only one tearing up; I don’t think there was a dry eye there.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww
And all of the sudden, we got moooodyyyy
It may have been getting dark and stormy outside, but it was bright and cheery under the tent!
Shoutout to the marvelous florist, Diana Elizabeth Designs! She really pulled out all the stops!
The rain reactions are some of my favorites of the evening!
Bridesmaids unphased.
Nobody’s gonna rain on their parade!
I’ve been waiting this whole post to say that.
Shauna + Brian love my jokes 😁
They totally nailed their theme of summer garden party! All that color and brightness, we completely forgot about the rain.
Lago East Bank makes a really perfect venue for a dream tented wedding reception.
And also a perfect venue to PARTAYYY
The tent really got lit 🔥
Are we still saying lit? Or am I embarrassing myself…
There was some super impressive limbo happening that evening!
But of course I had to steal the couple away for a couple more romantic dusky shots before the night ended.
Shauna + Brian, we had a BLAST on your wedding day! Thanks for letting us be a part of it, and big congrats to you in marriage 🥂
