A Rocky River Summer Engagement Session
To Celebrate All Good Things To Come.
The Art and Story of Sarah + Eric
If you enjoy dogs, grass, and random animal sightings, then you are absolutely going to LOVE Sarah + Eric’s outdoor engagement session in Cleveland. These two lovebirds are getting married [ duh ], but had to take advantage of our beautiful Cleveland summer weather. After all, it’s the best time to spot those super-rare deer 🦌. JK, they’re everywhere. All the time. iykyk.
Sarah + Eric also had some sweet companions with them during their session. Firstly, their adorable golden retriever joined them and gave us no shortage of puppy smiles. Our second costar is a bit harder to spot, but makes an appearance or two throughout. We are eagerly awaiting his permanent arrival at the end of the summer [ it’s a baby 🤯 ]
Fun True Fact; Sarah went to high school just over the hill from where we photographed their engagement session in the Cleveland Metroparks.
Fun Made Up Fact: She used to sit in this very tall grass area on school days by herself [ she would escape slyly from the gymnasium window during lunch ]. Quietly studying her chemistry book, she would dream of the day when she would no longer be sitting by her lonesome in the metroparks, and quietly resolved to be a successful pharmaceutical career woman and marry a blazingly handsome man in a sexy but conservatively cut blue shirt. #dreamscometrue
Sarah and Eric could not keep from smiling the entire time. Aren’t they just the cutest?? Also; cue in one of our guest-stars for the session 🤰🏻🐣🍼
The aforementioned golden retriever. We certainly have a soft spot for dogs, especially older and gentle four-legged friends.
I mean. How does your heart not just melt?? Anytime you get a dog wearing an ascot you can’t help but swoon [ I know it’s a bandanna but it sounds SO much more fancy when you say ascot ]
I am 100% going to recreate this image on their wedding day but sub in Eric for our golden retriever friend.
And the people love, too 🥰
”We really enjoyed Brett’s approach to the session. There was a lot of laughter. Brett is a real pro.

In Their Own Words.
That’s right. Every word you’ve read on this page so far regarding this wonderful wedding [ catch the alliteration there. Pretty brilliant, right? ] has all been word-smithed and crafted by us [ we’re not only gifted wedding photographers, but also not too shabby in the content writing department ] Humble Brag / Self enthusiasm aside; we mean every word on this page, but it’s important that you hear from our couple too.
We asked a few questions of them about their wedding; and hope you enjoy their answers 😀
What was one of your favorite parts of your session?
Brett picked some great locations, but for the last shots, he found a spot that no one would ever think to pick, but with the sun going down over our shoulder, we are most excited to see those shots.
How did you pick your outfits for your session?
We wanted to keep it simple and clean, jeans and white shirt for me and Sarah a sundress – plus with Sarah being pregnant we wanted to find some clothes that she was comfortable in.
How did you feel about the way we treated you throughout the session?
What are you most excited about for your wedding?
We are most excited to just be married. But with the friends and family that will all be there, it’ll most certainly be about spending a whole weekend with everyone that we love.
If you could describe your partner’s performance during the session in a few short sentences or phrases, how would you do so?
Eric: She did amazing. Sarah is such an easy smile. Every shot shows off her beautiful personality.
Sarah: Effortlessly handsome and charming- he’s always the perfect partner- helping me relax, constantly making me laugh.
Where will your wedding reception be, and why did you select your venue?
We are working with our planner now [ Leigh from Kirkbrides ], however we are currently thinking it will be at the Shoreby Club as we hear they have a beautiful new wedding venue.
Lots and lots of grass 🌾
Then our dear friend the deer crashed our party. Thankfully I had my camera ready. You never know when you’ll see a deer! [ Sarcasm, again, for those who aren’t paying attention. They’re everywhere. Every. Where. ]
Y’all there’s just something so special about black and white images. I knew these would be essential for their photography. This one is especially touching, dontcha think??
Awww the whole fam 🥹
Cue in the cool custom location I found for them that Eric mentioned [ looks like we’re no longer in Cleveland right? ]. Check out the little bundle of joy, coming soon!
Eric and Sarah, I LOVED getting to know you and spending time capturing your love! Your wedding will be here before we know it!
