We’ve met before; haven’t we? Nav casually asserted when she first called our offices the year prior to her wedding. After a few moments I realized this soon-to-be bride was one of the incredibly fun [ and gifted on-the-dance-floor ] guests at another Indian wedding we had photographed and filmed the summer prior in Michigan.
It is always a pleasure to continue crafting for and serving the communities we know; becoming the family wedding photographer and cinematographer for not only the couple, but the group of friends and family around them.
Seen above; we not only expertly photographed their Indian wedding weekend; we also perfectly told their story in motion with one of our custom made wedding films. The above is a short snippet from their wedding feature film; but is packed with art, energy and life.
We first met Pratap at his brother’s wedding. If you remember Apram + Kitty from earlier in our blog, you know exactly who we’re talking about 😉
A quick break from our storytelling, but none of this could have happened without the amazing group of wedding professionals that made Nav + Pratap’s wedding reception at the Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel come together beautifully. In no specific order, I’d like to thank the following wedding vendors;
-
- Wedding Reception Venue // Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel
- Wedding Ceremony Venue // Wabeek Country Club
- Wedding Decor // Events by Raj
- Wedding DJ // DJ Ice & Fresh Productions
- Wedding Makeup + Hair // Varaich Vanity
- Wedding Reception Venue // Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel
Anyways. As predicted, “The Boys” did NOT hold back…
…and neither did Nav. Not only did Nav show up every day of her wedding week beautiful as ever and a gracious host to all of her family, but she carved out time to surprise her fiancé with a birthday celebration in the middle of it.
Legit; this is the MOST EPIC WEDDING SHOE PHOTOGRAPH EVER. I use all caps to point out how serious I am.
We may have spent a little bit of extra time capturing and creating portraits of Nav before their Sikh Wedding Ceremony at the Wabeek Country Club.
And Pratap’s dressing was portraiture in itself. Well timed candid wedding photography is an art form we embrace heavily.
And a bit of intentional and directive art creation on the morning of the wedding yields some incredible wedding photography.
And who doesn’t love a good Barat before an Indian wedding ceremony? The weather could not have been more perfect for an outdoor Sikh wedding ceremony. While we have photographed many sikh weddings; this is the second outdoor sikh wedding ceremony we have photographed!
Our team could not get over the beautiful florals and decor throughout the entire weekend, including these gorgeous flower arches created by Events by Raj for their wedding reception at the Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel!
Look at these flower arches for their wedding reception! Wouldn’t it be great if flowers naturally grew this way?
Their wedding reception attire was INCREDIBLE. Can someone please send me Pratap’s suit in my size? TIA
Ask your DJ if they can do this for you; having a dreamy dance on clouds for your first dance at your wedding reception is mythic.
The energy was non-stop and the dance floor at their wedding reception at the Novi was full from beginning to end.
Parting shots; Nav and Pratap. Thank you for asking our team to travel up to Michigan once again. Being your wedding photographers and wedding filmmakers for your weekend was a privilege, a joy and an honor. Cheers to many years ahead friends!
